Ability to add a User from a User Selection Field into a Specified Group based on an Authority Outcome

Lighthouse Custom Modules can be configured so an outcome of an Authority can trigger if a user in a User Selection Field is added or removed from a specified group. This function further enhances Lighthouse’s configurability and adaptability to have Governance, Rick and Compliance Procedures interact within Lighthouse but to create an end-to-end solution.

You can get to the Outcomes Tab from within the Module Settings screen of a Custom Module. To get there you need to find the module you want to configure through the Licence Management Screen;

Then find the Module you wish to setup or change an outcome by using either the search bar and/or the Header Filters to find the Module.

Then click the ‘Cog’ to jump into the modules Settings.

Using the Tab Areas at the Top Right, navigate across til you can select the Outcomes tab.

Pre-Requisites

Creating the Outcomes are linking existing elements within a form together to create an outcome. This means you will need to establish these elements first before attempting to write them together using the Outcomes Tab. You will need to have any Authorities created and added to the Form along with any User Selection Fields you will be using at the same time.

Creating an Outcome

To create a new Outcome, you can click the [+] icon if there are no current Outcomes or if there are already set outcomes then you can select the [+] located next to existing outcomes;

Or alternatively,

Authority

The authority drop down is where you can select the Authorities that have already been added to the Form that you want to be the base of the outcome you are about to configure. Example: SES Approval

Outcome

This is what outcome from the Authority would you like to trigger the Action (next step). You can configure it to be either on the Approval of the Authority or Rejection of the Authority Example: the SES Approves.

Action

This is where you can configure the action that you want to occur based on the Outcome that you have just selected. You can Add a specific user to a specific group or you can remove a specific user from a specific group, based on if an authority has or hasn’t approved. Example: If the SES Approves then add user selection to Group Credit Card Holders.

User Field

By default, you will have the option to use the Submitting User or you can select any user selection field that you have added to the Form so the selected user in that field will be added or removed from the group based on what you have configured.

Note: User Selection fields with hidden permission are not eligible to be used in the User Field

Group

The Group Selector works the same way that it does throughout Lighthouse and it’ll present all the available groups to the Configurator. You can search or scroll down to select the group that you want the user to be added to or removed from. If you’d like to create a brand new group at this point, then you can leave the group selector blank and click the eye icon to the right of it to create a new blank group to use. If you aren’t sure if the group you have selected is the correct one then you can click the eye icon to navigate to the Group’s Members tab to understand if it’s the correct one.

At this point, you have create you entire outcome and you can proceed by clicking Save at the bottom right of the Outcome Configuration Screen

You can test your outcome by clicking your module into Config Mode or you can continue to create additional Outcomes, perhaps you want to remove a user from a Group if the Authority rejects?
